Jamar Brown, Chairperson of the City of Pocatello's Human Relations Advisory Committee to speak at December 9th Political Soup

In honor of National Human Rights Day on December 10, Jamar Brown of the City of Pocatello's Human Relations Advisory Committee will be speaking to the Bannock County Democrats at this month's Political Soup, to be held on Wednesday, December 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The mission of the City's Human Relations Advisory Committee is "to advocate human and civil rights for all residents; facilitate the prevention and elimination of discrimination; and promote harmony by fostering peaceful relationships to ensure all people are regarded and treated with dignity and respect." Ms. Brown will be discussing some of this Committee's ongoing, important work in Pocatello.

December’s Political Soup will be held at the headquarters of the Bannock County Democrats, 355 Yellowstone Ave. in Pocatello (across the street from Mama Inez restaurant), with parking in the back of the building (please do not park alongside adjacent businesses). Lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with the program beginning at noon. A small donation is appreciated.

Tues., Dec. 1st, 2015 — Special Central Committee Meeting to nominate co-chairs or chair candidates

There will be a special meeting of the Bannock County Democratic Party Central Committee (all precinct captains) on Tuesday, December 1st, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the  party headquarters. This special meeting is to accomplish the following:

• To nominate, from the floor, candidates for either co-chairs or a single chair.

After voting on the above issues, it will be decided whether the current search committee will continue or a new committee chosen to find a chairperson or co-chairpersons for the Bannock County Democratic Party in June of 2016.

After consultation with the Idaho Democratic Party, it has been determined that the Bannock County Democratic Party by-laws allow for co-chairs, with no amendment required.

All Bannock County Democratic Party precinct captains are requested to attend, as well as all other voting members.

Bannock County Democratic Party — Central Committee meeting this Tuesday, November 17th


On Tuesday, November 17th the Bannock County Democrats will be holding their Central Committee monthly meeting. This meeting is being held one week earlier in the month than usual due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. The Central Committee meeting will be held from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Precinct Captains are reminded to attend, and all county Democrats are invited to attend and participate.
This event will be held at our headquarters located at 355 Yellowstone Ave., across the street from Mama Inez restaurant. Entrances are at the front and back of the building, with parking in back.

Legislators Lacey, Smith and Nye to speak at Nov. 11th Bannock Democrats' Political Soup

Idaho District 29 State Senator Roy Lacey and Representatives Elaine Smith and Mark Nye will be the featured speakers at the Bannock County Democrats’ Political Soup event this Wednesday, November 11th. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m.
 Senator Lacey and Representatives Smith and Nye will talk about the Idaho Legislature's 2016 session beginning in January. They'll speakabout their thoughts on the upcoming legislative session and what they believe will be the key issues and bills the citizens of Bannock County should closely watch.
