Linda Leeuwrik, co-chair of the Bannock County Democratic Party is pleased to invite the public to help select the next president of the United States.
On March 22, 2016, Idaho will join states around the West in hosting county caucuses to select our preferences among candidates for the Democratic Party presidential nominee. “This is a wonderful opportunity for Bannock County residents to have a real say in selecting our next president,” Leeuwrik said. “We’re expecting a large turnout, so we encourage people to reserve their seats at idahodems.org.”
The caucus location is the Pond Student Union ballroom at Idaho State University, 921 S. 8th Avenue in Pocatello. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. MT and the caucus will begin promptly at 7 p.m. MT. Those arriving after 7 p.m., or in excess of the maximum room occupancy of 800, will not be admitted. Anyone who wants to participate as a Democrat and will be a registered voter of the county on November 8, 2016, is eligible to take part in the caucus. The meeting is open to the media and the public.
