Speakers at Bannock County Democrats' Political Soup to talk about Women's March on Pocatello and Citizens' Climate Lobby

The public is invited to attend the Bannock County Democrats' Political Soup luncheon this Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Our guest speakers will be Linda Leeuwrik, a lead organizer of the Women's March on Pocatello and Linda Engle, a local volunteer with the Citizens' Climate Lobby.

Leeuwrik will discuss the purpose and details of the march scheduled for Saturday, January 21. Coinciding with the national Women's March on Washington and sister marches across the country, the Pocatello march is a nonpartisan event open to all defenders of women's and human rights, to march in support of equality for all. The march will start at Caldwell Park at 10 a.m. and end with an organization fair in ISU's Pond Student Union Building.

Our second speaker, Linda Engle, will provide information on the Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL). Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a national non-partisan, non-profit grassroots organization that is creating the political will to solve climate change. Ms. Engle, faculty at ISU and a local CCL volunteer, will present an upbeat solution to global warming.

Political Soup will be held at the Bannock County Democrats’ headquarters at 355 Yellowstone Ave in Pocatello (across from Mama Inez restaurant), with parking behind the building. Lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with the program beginning at noon. A small donation is appreciated.
