Bannock County Candidates

Idaho Senate:
James Ruchti

James is a hard worker and leader. He believes the purpose of holding elective office is to help his constituents live their best lives. He won’t allow obstacles or party politics get in the way of serving his constituents.

Idaho House:
Nate Roberts

I have worked for a living for my family for over 35 years. I still get up in the early hours, work all day for a company that I have no vested interest in, to get home in the late hours tired, worn out, and sometimes hurting, all for a paycheck that does not go as far as I think it should. It’s not getting easier. Housing costs are on the rise to a point where working families are priced out, some even living without a home while working one or more full-time jobs. Food, gas, vehicles the only thing that has not been rising is our wages.

Idaho House:
Mary Shea

Mary Shea is a lawyer with over thirty years’ experience, practicing in South East Idaho for more than twenty years. Mary is a certified Child Welfare Law Specialist, and she has donated her professional time and experience for the families of Bannock County in various capacities. Mary has been a leader in the community and in her profession, serving in Bar leadership; serving as a Board member and longtime President of Idaho Legal Aid Services, and serving on the Friends of the Marshall Public Library Committee; helping to organize the Citizen’s Law Academy; and leading the Portneuf Health Care Foundation.

Mary ran and was the primary instructor for the Paralegal Studies Program at Idaho State University from 2010-2017.

Before moving to Idaho almost a quarter century ago, Mary worked for the State of Virginia in areas of complex and politically charged litigation. Mary advised the State of Virginia and helped solve problems in the prison system; the criminal sentencing system; voter registration; Congressional and state house redistricting; and many other complicated and difficult policy matters.

Commissioner,
District 2:
Lisa Alexander

I am grateful to live in Bannock County and love calling Idaho my home. I was raised in Chubbuck, received a good education attending SD25 schools, and went on to graduate with a BA in Political Science from Idaho State University. I am the mother of three grown children, and my work experience includes managing the Bannock County Elections Office. I choose to live in the area in which I was raised because I admire the people and appreciate the opportunities we have as Idahoans to receive a quality education, work, prosper, and enjoy nature.

County Assessor: Tamara Code

As Bannock County’s Assessor, I will bring a new vision to the office. I vow to work towards accurate, equitable, and timely assessments. I will streamline processes to make it easier for our citizens to access vital services. My experience and education have prepared me to excel at this office, and I promise you that every day I will work earnestly on behalf of the citizens of Bannock County. Thank you for your consideration and for your vote this May.

Treasurer:
Jennifer Clark

Jennifer Clark has worked in the Bannock County Treasurer’s Office for over 20 years. She has spent the last 11 years serving as the Sr. Deputy Treasurer under Radene Barker.

Jennifer has lived in Southeast Idaho since she was a small child. She grew up in Soda Springs, Idaho. She graduated from Soda Springs High School, and then completed the Legal Secretary Program through Idaho State University. Before working in the Bannock County Treasurer’s Office Jennifer worked for West One Bank (now US Bank) for 6 years.

Jennifer has invaluable institutional knowledge of the operations of the Bannock County Treasurer’s Office. She loves interacting with the citizens of Bannock County and looks forward to serving them as Treasurer.
