The public is invited to the Bannock County Democrats’ monthly Political Soup luncheon on Wednesday, August 9. BJ Stensland, Executive Director of Aid for Friends, will give a talk about this multifaceted agency and the many services and opportunities they provide to overcome and prevent homelessness in Southeast Idaho. In addition to being an emergency shelter, they are also a day resource center, providing case management services to support self-sufficiency, a transitional housing program, and a host of other community services. After her presentation, Stensland will also take questions from the audience.
Political Soup is held at the Bannock County Democrats’ headquarters at 355 Yellowstone Ave in Pocatello (across the street from Mama Inez restaurant), with parking behind the building. Lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with the program beginning at noon. A small donation is appreciated.
